From Doraemon to LABUBU: “Floating Art Parade” Lights Up Hong Kong

Giant inflatables from Doraemon to LABUBU float across Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, creating a colourful and playful water parade.

Victoria Harbour is turning into a sea of colour and creativity this week. Four giant inflatable cartoon floats — including Doraemon and LABUBU — have “sailed” into the harbour, drawing big crowds of locals and tourists, according to CNS.

The Water Parade event, organised by Hong Kong creative brand @AllRightsReserved, officially kicked off on October 25. At Tamar Park in Admiralty, visitors can spot some familiar faces. Doraemon lies lazily on a dorayaki. Nearby, LABUBU peeks out from a giant doughnut. On the water, Elmo from Sesame Street and McDull, Hong Kong’s beloved cartoon pig, float peacefully under the skyline.

Meanwhile, the pop-up market at Tamar Park adds to the fun. Souvenirs featuring other popular characters — such as the original “Rubber Duck,” Snoopy, and the Peanuts comic series — are selling quickly. Families and fans stop to take photos, laugh, and share the playful atmosphere.

Mrs Law, a Hong Kong resident, came with her five-year-old daughter. “My daughter is a big LABUBU fan — we came just for this!” she said. “It’s huge and adorable. So cool, so cute!”

The event will run for eight days. On November 1, all four inflatable figures will join a “Dream Parade Fleet” and cruise between Admiralty and Tsim Sha Tsui. It will be a night of colour, light, and joy — a perfect blend of art, play, and the spirit of Hong Kong.
