Household robots take the spotlight at the World Robot Conference in Beijing, showcasing smarter ways to enhance everyday life.
The 2026 World Robot Conference, themed “Human-Robot Symbiosis, Production-Demand Convergence”, opened in Beijing on August 19th. More than 300 Chinese and international robotics companies are taking part, showcasing over 3,000 exhibits and highlighting the latest applications of robotics in industrial production and everyday life.
New Players Join the Robot Race
This year’s conference features many new exhibitors. Shanghai Moqi Wanxiang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., established less than a year ago, is showcasing its MORPHI KINO wheeled robot.
In a simulated home environment, the robot independently completed a 15-minute, multi-step task that included cleaning the living room, organising a table, restocking drinks in a refrigerator, and washing, drying, and folding clothes. Wen Yuxiang, an expert in perception algorithms at the company, said the company hopes to use the conference to demonstrate its technology and learn from other industry players. It plans to complete full-process testing of its core technologies in hotels within two to three years before gradually bringing them into homes.
Chongqing Longmeika Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. is showcasing an automated robotic welding system. The system can operate in harsh environments with high temperatures, strong light, and high noise, allowing continuous operation around the clock. The solution has already been deployed at a shipyard in South Korea. Connected to the factory’s existing scheduling system, it can automatically assign welding tasks and has largely enabled unmanned operations.
Robots Focus on Emotional Companionship
A range of household robots have become highlights of the conference. They not only provide practical services but are also increasingly designed to offer emotional companionship, making them part of people’s everyday lives.
Beijing Xinyan Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. has brought a 65-centimetre-tall smart home companion robot to the conference. It can proactively interact with users, take photos, communicate in foreign languages, and follow children as they move around. Using artificial intelligence, it can also record moments from a child’s growth and generate comic-style images and text.
At Hangzhou Yiqi Future Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., visitors are lining up to try a robotic masseur. Built around a six-axis robotic arm, the robot uses visual algorithms to scan the human body and create a digital model, allowing it to quickly identify acupuncture points. It also uses motion-capture technology to reproduce professional massage techniques and supports traditional Chinese therapies such as moxibustion and cupping. The product has already been introduced to beauty services, traditional Chinese medicine clinics, and sports rehabilitation, with nearly 1,000 partner stores and institutions across China.
Sichuan Jushen Humanoid Robot Technology Co., Ltd. has unveiled an emotionally interactive humanoid robot, priced from 98,000 yuan. Equipped with a 3D ultra-short-throw projector, the robot can display subtle facial expressions. Its emotional interaction system can recognise users’ emotions through facial expressions and speech and respond accordingly. It can currently identify at least 15 types of emotions, with an accuracy rate of more than 85%.
