Six Siberian Tigers in One Frame: Rare Wild Sighting in China

China’s Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park captured a rare moment: a female Siberian tiger with five cubs. This is the first “six-tiger” wild sighting in the country.

On November 8th, 2025, cameras in China’s Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park captured an extraordinary scene: a female Siberian (Amur) tiger with five cubs. This is the first time in China that six Siberian tigers have been seen together in the wild. The cubs, born in June, are now over four months old and growing strong, according to CNS.

Raising five cubs in the wild is extremely rare. Experts say this event is exceptional even in global tiger conservation. Earlier, on November 6th, another female tiger was seen with four cubs, marking only the fourth time such a sighting has been recorded in China.

Besides, these rare sightings reflect the park’s improving ecosystem. Human disturbance has decreased, prey is abundant, and multiple tiger families can share the forest peacefully. The images show that conservation efforts are working and the habitat is recovering well.

Zhou Fei, deputy director-general of the WWF Beijing Representative Office, said, “These sightings show the impact of long-term protection. They offer hope for endangered species worldwide and valuable lessons for restoring habitats.”

The rare footage excites wildlife lovers and underscores the importance of protecting Siberian tigers and their forests for generations to come.
