These exciting new Chinese restaurants in London are worth checking out during 2026, from flavourful Yunnan food to relaxing tea houses.
As much as everyone in the UK loves a typical British-Chinese takeaway, there are now so many different Chinese restaurants in London representing the full breadth of Chinese cuisine. Here are some of the recently opened or soon-to-be-opened restaurants that are worth checking out in 2026.
Yun
Yun will be opening a new store in central London, expanding from their original location in Brick Lane, East London. The restaurant specialises in Yunnanese food from southwestern China.
They have lots of popular dishes to choose from. However, it’s best to try the titular dish, Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles, which is a culinary experience all by itself.
Dim Sum Library
Dim Sum Library is a Chinese restaurant in Covent Garden, located at 136 Long Acre in the heart of London’s West End. They serve Hong Kong inspired dim sum, made fresh by chefs at the counter in front of your eyes.
Stylish sums up Dim Sum Library well, from the art deco styling to the dim sum made in front of your eyes.
Summer Dumpling
Summer Dumpling is a new Chinese restaurant in Angel. This cosy eatery offers up handmade dumplings and noodles.
As the name suggests, dumplings are their speciality, and they offer a selection of great tastes on their small but flavourful menu. Either pan-fried or boiled to suit everyone’s tastes.
Three Round Tavern
Three Rounds Tavern opened in late 2025 in Brick Lane, East London. The restaurant specialises in various meat dishes including: Smoked Chicken, Braised Pig knuckle, and Braised Beef Slices.
Not to limit themselves to food, the tavern personifies the Chinese saying, “the real conversation begins after three rounds of drinks”. Multiple Chinese spirits and beers are available to try.
Jiaonest
Perhaps the most unique of the new openings, Jiaonest blends a restaurant and a traditional Chinese apothecary located in Haggerston, East London. The restaurant serves spicy Chongqing flavours and broths with medicinal herbs.
It is all inspired by chef Hua Yang’s childhood, from the herbal pharmacy her family ran in Chongqing.
Lotus Realm
Among a multitude of new restaurants, Lotus Realm stands apart as a tea house and cocktail bar. Soon to open just off Oxford Street, the team behind the space have been running pop-ups for about a year, searching out teas, and mixing cocktails.
The philosophy is tea by day, cocktail by night so they will serve up Chinese tea and teacakes during the day, then switch up to tea-infused cocktails in the evening. This style of modern tea house is common across China, but this will be one of the few in the UK.
