Meet 30 Adorable Newborn Pandas Ringing in the Lunar New Year

Celebrate 30 adorable newborn pandas at China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Panda and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Panda welcomed the Lunar New Year with a heartwarming celebration: 30 newborn pandas made their public debut across its two facilities, including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The event showcased the cubs’ playful charm and highlighted 2025 breeding achievements.

Linglang and Qiao Qiao Steal the Spotlight

At the Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base, the spotlight fell on Linglang (玲琅), the first panda born at the base in 2025. She has grown from a tiny pink newborn into a striking black-and-white panda. Energetic and curious, Linglang loves climbing and often plays around tree stumps. Another cub, Qiao Qiao (乔乔), born weighing 238.8 grams, captured hearts with its gentle cuddles and curious observation of its surroundings.

Besides, at the Bifengxia Base of China Giant Panda Protection and Research Centre in Ya’an, six newborn cubs made their debut. Caretakers monitor the cubs 24/7, recording their behaviours and adjusting care as they learn vital survival skills from their mothers.

The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding added a fun twist with a park-style showcase. Twelve newborn pandas appeared, each showing unique personality traits and playful antics. Visitors enjoyed watching the cubs climb, tumble, and explore, revealing their lively instincts.

Panda Conservation Achievements in 2025

Since its establishment in November 2023, the China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Panda has worked closely with the Chengdu Research Base to build a world-class panda conservation and research platform. In 2025, the two institutions successfully bred 45 pandas, with 30 newborns joining the Lunar New Year celebration.
