All-Female Yue Opera Troop to Perform in London

The all-female Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theatre will grace London with the Garden of Love Yue opera performances at The Shaw Theatre on August 21st. 

There is only one week until the all-female Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theatre perform their unique Garden of Love performance. The Garden of Love is a specially curated selection of Yue opera excerpts that explore the themes of longing, destiny, and eternal devotion. It includes selections from some of the most iconic love stories in Chinese literature. The performance includes Dream of the Red Chamber: Song of Burying Flowers and The Peony Pavilion: A Secret Tryst.

It will be performed for one day only on August 21st at 2.30pm and 7pm, only one week away.

Founded in 1984, the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theatre are China’s most celebrated all-female professional Yue opera company. They have won numerous awards in China, and are responsible for nurturing a generation of Yue opera talent.

The full cast for the London performance is Wei Chunfang, Zhang Yiqing, Chen Lijun, Zheng Xiao, Xu Hong, Li Xiaowen, Xu Yena, Cai Zhefei, Zhang Yiqing, Li Xiaowen, Xie Chan, and Zheng Xiao.
