During the 2024 New Year holiday, a bustling scene unfolded at Youyi Pass, also known as Friendship Pass, situated in the border city of Pingxiang in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as trucks from both China and Vietnam formed queues for customs clearance.

These days, workers of Heze Sanqing Food Co Ltd, a food processor based in Heze, East China's Shandong province, are busy unloading and loading unusually large amounts of goods. The firm produces 100,000 metric tons of canned fruits and vegetables per year, averaging about 274 tons a day.

A total of 112 companies from the RCEP member countries, such as Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Laos participated in the expo in Huaihua.

Xinjiang's trade with countries along the Belt and Road totaled 61.88 billion yuan, up 77.4 percent year on year, and its trade with other RCEP members came in at 2.83 billion yuan, up 16.6 percent.

Though in effect for only one year, the regional trade agreement among 15 Asia-Pacific nations has become a strong driving force for economic cooperation among its signatories.
