Adidas released a new China collection at Shanghai Fashion Week, which took young Chinese by storm, blending tradition and modernity in uniquely stylish jackets.
Marking the 20th anniversary of adidas Creation Center Shanghai, Adidas joined Shanghai Fashion Week as an official partner with the special unveiling of “adidas Presents: POWER OF THREE”. A standout runway show on the final day of the fashion week in October showcased the new Adidas China collection. Among the collection was a unique jacket, described by buyers as a cross between tang dynasty fashion and streetwear, that has gone viral.
For the past twenty years, Creation Center Shanghai has served as the creative heartbeat of adidas in China. It has delivered an extensive range of footwear and apparel tailored for the China market while fostering deep collaborations with local artists, athletes, and cultural institutions to showcase local creativity, even onto the global stage.
The new Adidas China collection was no different, with Creation Center Shanghai revealing its fresh vision at Shanghai Fashion Week.
It takes traditional Chinese design elements and modernises them, with more contemporary streetwear. Blending both modernity and tradition into a new Chinese style.

They build upon last year’s New Year collection, which sold well.
In China, the response has been overwhelming, with many rushing to buy the unique jacket. The ‘new Chinese style’ of this adidas China collection has been particularly popular with younger consumers.
The outfits showcased on the runway were available to buy immediately during the event. A live-stream show on adidas’ official Tmall store sold the collection while there was a limited-time release at their flagship stores in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing. Now it is available to buy across China. Response hasn’t been limited to China, with many posters on social media outside expressing jealousy or asking where they could buy. The jacket from the Adidas China collection is already being resold outside China on various shopping sites, including Shein and eBay.
