On September 22nd Chinese actor, model, and international fashion ambassador Hu Bing celebrates his 10th anniversary at London Fashion Week with HUBING SELECTS: EQUAL ETHEREAL, spotlighting emerging Chinese designers.
Hu Bing has been one of China’s top models for over 30 years. He’s also famous as an actor for his roles on TV and in movies. More recently, he has become an international fashion ambassador, championing China’s fashion scene on the global stage. He became the first Chinese International Ambassador for London Collections: Men in 2015, and has attended ten consecutive seasons of shows.
In 2024, he debuted the first HUBING SELECTS at London Fashion Week. A commitment to highlighting Chinese fashion. This year, the featured collection for HUBING SELECTS is Golden Age. It is a tribute to legendary designer Pierre Cardin, created through the lens of Eastern cultural aesthetics, and is a dialogue between East and West.
The collection is led by new-generation Asian designer Aya Maruyama, with menswear designer Wang Yijie and womenswear designer An Da as key members of the design team. It also features the work of renowned fabric innovator Lu Jianping, a leading expert in textile development.

The team’s hard work came to fruition on September 22nd, when the collection was showcased on the catwalk of London Fashion Week. Taking place in the extravagant Freemason’s Hall, Hu Bing himself even took to the stage.
Speaking before the performance, he said: “London Fashion Week is unique among the big four — it’s the proving ground for new talent and the most inclusive of experimental design, distinct perspectives, and niche cultures.” The goal of his hard work is simple, “to act as a translator for Chinese design, helping international audiences not just see the work, but understand the stories and philosophies behind it.”
Hu Bing added: “This decade has been about opening doors. The next will be about building bridges. My vision is to continue creating opportunities for Asian designers and ensuring their stories are heard on the world stage. If, years from now, I am remembered as someone who helped the next generation of talent to shine, that will be my proudest achievement.”

This season, Hu Bing was joined by Mr. Xie Fangming, Executive Vice President of the China Fashion Designers Association and Director of China Fashion Week. His presence signals growing cooperation between the two nations’ fashion industries, with opportunities for designer exchange programs, shared resources, and stronger recognition of Chinese textiles on the world stage.
Hu Bing said “Having Mr. Xie in London is akin to having the ‘national team’ here to show support. I hope his presence sparks lasting collaborations between our fashion weeks and deepens mutual understanding of China’s excellence in textiles and design.”
An emotional reunion took place as Qu Ying, an old friend of Hu Bing for more than 30 years, joined the show. A famous Chinese supermodel, actor and singer, she had appeared with Hu Bing on TV shows together decades ago. She had made a special trip to London to support Hu Bing. She praised Hu Bing’s continuous efforts over the years to introduce Chinese fashion to the world, and at London Fashion Week.
She said: “We’ve had our prime time… so I feel obliged to spread and contribute a little warmth in the industry”.
