ChinaNANO2025 Showcases Nanotech and AI Breakthroughs

ChinaNANO2025 conference in Beijing showcases the latest breakthroughs in nanotechnology and AI, highlighting the innovations driving the future of science and industry.

The 10th China International Nanoscience and Technology Conference (ChinaNANO2025) recently opened in Beijing. The three-day conference runs from August 30th to September 1st.

During the conference, the China Nanotechnology Industry White Paper (2025) was released. The white paper maps the global and Chinese nanotechnology industry and predicts future trends. It showed that from 2000 to 2025, the world registered over 1.078 million nanotechnology patents. China alone accounts for 464,000 patents, or roughly 43% of the global total, ranking first worldwide. The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) leads as the top patent holder with 23,400 patents. It estimates that by the end of 2025, the global nanotech market will reach $1.5 trillion, growing at a 17% compound annual growth rate from 2018 to 2025. China’s patent transfer and licensing rate has exceeded 8%, reflecting improved efficiency in turning research into practical applications.

Nanotechnology Driving Strategic Innovation

Academician Bai Chunli of CAS highlighted that nanotechnology plays a key role in advancing green energy, biomedical innovation, and information technology, accelerating the creation of new productivity. China has emerged as a major contributor and front-runner in the global nanotech landscape. The rise of artificial intelligence is further reshaping research methods and opening revolutionary opportunities in the field.

As the largest and most prestigious conference on nanotechnology in Asia and beyond, organisers expected to draw more than 2,500 participants. The conference features seven leading international scientists presenting keynote talks. Over 600 scholars discuss 15 hot topics in nanoscience, showcasing the latest breakthroughs and research achievements.

Founded in 2005, ChinaNANO is a biennial international conference that has grown into a major platform for sharing global nanoscience knowledge and fostering collaboration.
