British Library’s Pixel World Exhibition Brings More Than Classics

The Exhibition promises a captivating journey through literary and artistic treasures.

A literary museum exhibition titled “Pixel World”, authorized by the British Library and organized by Museum Box, is now ongoing at the Joy City shopping mall in Haidian, Beijing, offering an immersive journey through literary and artistic treasures.

The exhibition features five main themes: “Exploring the Universe” “Classic Literature” “Hall of Music” “Children’s Literature,” and “Scientific Celebration,” to lead the audience on a one-stop tour of 2,000 years of human civilization history.

Highlights include the Shakespeare’s “First Folio”, Jane Austen’s signed works, Newton’s gravity manuscript, Leonardo da Vinci’s “Codex Arundel”, Darwin’s letters on natural selection, and manuscript scores from Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin, among over 100 other prestigious reproductions.

In addition, the exhibition recreates classic scenes from children’s literature, such as the Ice Queen’s throne, Alice’s rabbit hole, the Little Prince’s rose, Gulliver’s “Land of the Giants”, and Aladdin’s magic lamp. These are all check-in hotspots in this exhibition.

Besides, the exhibition blends visual, auditory, and tactile experiences through advanced technology, creating an engaging experience for visitors.

The British Library (UK National Library) is one of the most influential libraries in the world. This time, the exhibits are selected from its 170 million collections and many legendary replicas. It has toured over 10 cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Wuhan in China.
