The 2026 China Overseas Scholars Entrepreneurship Competition launches in Beijing, inviting global talent to compete in innovation.
2026 (12th) China Overseas Scholars Entrepreneurship Competition & International Talent Technology Innovation And Entrepreneurship Competition launched in Beijing on April 16th.
This year, the organisers are running the competition through a parallel model. They combine a main competition with specialised contests. At the same time, they link domestic and overseas events. After the main competition, they will focus on key sectors. These include biomedicine and bio-manufacturing, integrated circuits and advanced manufacturing, and high-performance medical devices. Consequently, they will run specialised contests to identify strong projects in niche fields.
Meanwhile, they will organise activities such as “Haichuang China Talent Tour” and “International Innovation Talent China Tour”. As a result, they will match projects with industry and markets more efficiently.
In addition, they will establish a technology achievement transformation base. This will create a full-service chain, covering participation, mentoring, implementation, and industrialisation.
The competition is open to global applicants. Specifically, it welcomes projects from overseas returnees who start businesses in China, as well as international innovation and entrepreneurship projects. Both companies and individuals can apply. The organisers will award one first prize, three second prizes, six third prizes, and ten excellence awards. Furthermore, they will provide corresponding cash prizes and supporting services.
The online registration for the main competition has officially opened. The deadline for applications is June 22nd. After the organisers complete the initial screening and evaluation, selected teams will enter the semi-finals. These teams will then attend the semi-finals, finals, and industry exchange activities in Suzhou, Jiangsu, in late July. In addition, registration for the specialised contests will begin in early August.
The China Overseas Scholars Entrepreneurship Competition is jointly organised by China Overseas Scholars Pioneer Park, together with relevant partners. Since 2015, the competition has attracted more than 5,500 overseas returnee project teams.
