British Artist Lubaina Himid’s First Solo Exhibition in China Opens at UCCA

Lubaina Himid opens her first solo exhibition in China. 

On Jan. 17th, 2025, British artist Lubaina Himid opened her first solo exhibition in China at the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. The exhibition offers an overview of Himid’s remarkable career and her distinctively powerful artistic approach to historical narratives. Her work reconstructs and reimagines Black experiences, the African diaspora, and her personal life through various mediums. The exhibition will run until April 27th, and features a selection of significant works of Lubena Himid from the 1980s to the present. Watch the video below to experience the exhibition.
