Xinjiang reports 8 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region reported eight new confirmed domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases on Monday, the regional health commission said Tuesday.

The eight confirmed cases included seven in the regional capital Urumqi and one in the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

The region also registered five new asymptomatic cases, all in Urumqi, on Monday.

From July 15 to 20, Xinjiang had reported a total of 55 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

By Monday, 3,119 people were still under medical observation.
