Visit Haikou, where history and modernity converge

Since phase II of the Haikou Meilan International Airport was put into operation in early December, it has become considerably more convenient to travel between Haikou and the rest of the world. This famous historical island and cultural hub is not only abundant in ancient Chinese culture, but is also home to Qilou Century Old Streets that follow a modern Nanyang style. As an international wetland city, visitors can enjoy the "return of thousands of birds" at the largest mangrove nature reserve in China and the carefully restored national wetland park that contains very rich biodiversity. Haikou, the provincial city of Hainan, also exhibits romantic tropical coastal scenery and ancient volcanic contours that date back thousands of years. The city continues to show vigorous development and great vitality against the backdrop of China's continuing opening up.

The mangrove is a national nature reserve with some of the richest mangrove resources in China. There are 19 families and 35 species of mangrove plant, accounting for 97% of the mangrove species of China. The reserve is also a paradise for birds. Tens of thousands of migratory birds come here every winter, and 218 species of birds have been recorded.

Haikou Yundong library with rich culture, art and a sense of modernity is the first choice for people to find a spot for reading.
