The Philippines on Sunday thanked China anew for its help, saying the crucial medical supplies donated by the Chinese government and the ideas shared by the Chinese experts have "provided a lifeline" to the Philippines' efforts to step up the fight against the COVID-19.

On March 14, medical supplies worth RMB 2.4 million donated by BlueRiver, including 40,000 N95 masks, 1,800 sets of medical protective suits and 250,000 pairs of medical gloves, were urgently airlifted to Sardinia, Italy. This is the first dairy enterprise in Hunan to donate medical supplies to Italy.

China has imported about 1.2 billion yuan ($171 million) of medical supplies to assist with virus control since Jan 24, and it is also looking to ratchet up domestic production and speed up the transportation of these supplies to key regions plagued by the novel coronavirus outbreak.
