China's complete manufacturing clusters, strategic position in the Asia-Pacific region and numerous free trade agreements with various countries will remain beneficial for multinational corporations aiming to capitalize on growth opportunities, said business executives and experts.

 "European companies are not running for the exit. Instead, most of our member companies remain committed to the Chinese market," Jens Eskelund, president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.

From automobiles to consumer goods, China has become an important engine of market growth for major European companies which have been struggling with a shrinking global market due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first China International Consumer Products Expo will kick off on May 7 in Haikou, capital of south China's island province of Hainan. Altia will join in the Expo with Chinese distributor partners, hoping to take this opportunity to open up the Chinese market.

Some 1.2 million new collections of overseas brands will hit the Chinese market on Alibaba's platform of Tmall International during the festival this year, the company said.
