Vice-President Han Zheng stressed China's readiness to bolster cooperation with the United Kingdom to seek win-win outcomes and common development while attending the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and related activities in London.
The meeting of Queen Elizabeth II in March 1998 with the then Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji was the monarch’s first with a Chinese state leader in London. Ma Zhengang, the then Chinese Ambassador to the U.K. recalled, “Showing great interest in China’s reform and opening-up, the queen enquired about the overall situation. And Premier Zhu briefed her.”
On behalf of President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government and people, Wang expressed deep condolences over the Queen's passing and extended sincere sympathy to the British royal family, government and people.
The two countries have maintained coordination and cooperation on such issues as global development and climate change, and have actively contributed to addressing common challenges facing humanity.
