The foundation construction of the largest single building of the 2nd Airbus Tianjin A320 Family Final Assembly Line Project has completed on Sunday. The project, aimed to manufacture both A320 and A321neo aircraft, is expected to enter into service by the end of 2026.
Airbus has, for the first time, delivered an aircraft assembled in north China's Tianjin Municipality to a Philippine airline.
"China's supply chain has been very flexible," said Xu Gang, CEO of Airbus China. "Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese suppliers didn't postpone deliveries or experience substantial disruptions.
In line with its sustainability strategy, Airbus and the China National Aviation Fuel Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen Chinese-European cooperation on the production, competitive application and common standards formulation for sustainable aviation fuels.
European aircraft manufacturer Airbus started to produce A321 aircraft at its Final Assembly Line Asia (FALA) facility in north China's Tianjin on Wednesday -- confirmation that China is capable of delivering all models of Airbus' A320 family aircraft.
