Flushed riverbed shows spectacular ‘relief image’

Views of the Yellow River’s bank marked with various patterns formed by water or cracked mud in Jiyuan City, Central China’s Henan Province. Water has been released from the Xiaolangdi Reservoir on the Yellow River in order to flush mud and sand that had accumulated on the riverbed, creating spectacular patterns that look like relief images viewed from the sky.
