City in Yunnan to provide health exams for all

The city's statistics bureau said there were 282,700 registered residents in 2019.

It's expected the project will be completed within three years with an investment of 100 million yuan ($14.93 million) from the city.

In recent years, Anning has been building an open electronic health information database and query platform for all residents that can help detect and treat diseases earlier.

In addition, the data can help analyze the main factors influencing residents' health and promote scientific countermeasures.

So far, basic medical facilities in the city have created 269,000 electronic health records and conducted free health examinations for 24,200 people, including children under 6 years old, elderly people over 65 and married women in low-income families.

The city expects to finish examining all students in primary and middle schools as well as residents between age 18 and 64 by the end of next year.

In 2022, a science-based spectrum of diseases and regional health reports will be available based on comprehensive analysis and classification of health examination results, The information will be the basis for adjusting regional health resources to meet needs efficiently.

The government also plans to develop a mobile app that can help residents search for health data more easily.
