Chinese New Year Feasting at Straits Kitchen – Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd January

A truly important element of any Chinese New Year celebration is the food, bringing families and friends together. At Straits Kitchen, enjoy a celebratory four-course sharing dinner on Saturday 21st January for £138 per person, featuring a welcome ‘Jade Rabbit’ cocktail or mocktail. You’ll begin with the Rainbow Yu Sheng salad – known as a symbol of prosperity and abundance, this colourful creation sees carrots, Daikon radishes, sweet purple potatoes, pickled ginger, fresh mango and clementine finished with black cod and black truffle. An interactive experience, as a group with your friends or family you will together toss the salad, and its thought the higher the toss, the more prosperous your year will be. Next, a culinary delicacy of Braised Abalone, served with Shiitake mushrooms and gai lan. One of the most sought-after seafood ingredients in the world, eating abalone is believed to usher in good fortune. Other indulgent dishes include steamed seabass with XO sauce; native lobster stir-fried longevity noodles and XO scallops fried rice. To truly toast the festivities, opt for two hours of unlimited Chinese wine to accompany your meal, for an additional £68pp. Take your pick from an array of choices including a sparkling Great Wall Chateau Sungod Blanc de Blancs 2006; Kanaan Winery Riesling 2018; Xige Jade Dove Rosé and Cowpoer Jade Gogo Pandart Merlot 2017.

For an extra special Sunday sharing feast that’s perfect for the whole family, visit Straits Kitchen for lunch on Sunday 22nd January. Indulge in a choice of roasts, including crispy pork belly, duck, barbeque pork and Hainanese chicken. Next up are the house specialties of native lobster laksa and black cod & black truffle rainbow yusheng accompanied by a choice of sides. The Sunday sharing feast is priced at £118 per person including either half a bottle of Kanaan Winery Riesling 2018, or Changyu Moser Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, or two signature Chinese New Year mocktails.
