China Eastern Airlines completes test flight at new Beijing airport

A China Eastern Airlines aircraft completes a test flight at Beijing Daxing International Airport on the evening of August 26, 2019. The trial flight focused on flight procedures in low-visibility conditions in the run-up to the airport’s official opening of operations on September 30. Located 46 km south of downtown Beijing, the new airport is aimed at taking pressure off the overcrowded Beijing Capital International Airport in the northeastern suburbs. It is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025.
