Package tour visitors to Macao leap by 187.3 percent in May

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) of the Macao Special Administrative Region government reported on Jun 26 that the package tour visitors to Macao had leapt by 187.3 percent year-on-year to 242,000 in May 2024.

The international tour visitors had jumped by 522.2 percent to 18,000, with those coming from South Korea (7,000) and India (4,000) surging by 620.7 percent and 1,662.4 percent, respectively, the DSEC indicated.

The service recorded 928,000 package tour visitors in the first five months of 2024, an increase of 225.3 percent year-on-year.

The survey also noted that 143 hotel establishments offered accommodation services to the public in May 2024, 13 more than in the same period last year, and the total number of available guest rooms grew by 9.3 percent to 47,000.
