Garden of Love by Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theatre will grace London with a collection of Yue opera performances at The Shaw Theatre on August 21st.
The Garden of Love is a specially curated selection of Yue opera excerpts that explore the themes of longing, destiny, and eternal devotion. It includes selections from some of the most iconic love stories in Chinese literature. The performance includes Dream of the Red Chamber: Song of Burying Flowers andThe Peony Pavilion: A Secret Tryst. The performance will also have interlude instrumentals feature traditional Chinese instruments.
It will be performed by the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Theatre. Founded in 1984, they are China’s most celebrated all-female professional Yue opera company. They have won numerous awards in China, and are responsible for nurturing a generation of Yue opera talent.
The Garden of Love performance will take place on August 21st at The Shaw Theatre near Kings Cross, London.
