43,617 Fans! Jiangsu City Football League Sets New Record

A record 43,617 fans watched Suzhou beat Yangzhou 3–0 in the Jiangsu City Football League.

On the evening of June 29, the fifth round of the 2025 Jiangsu City Football League—known as “Su Chao”—came to a close with three matches.

Suzhou secured its first win of the season with a 3–0 victory over Yangzhou at home. Nantong dominated Suqian 4–0, earning their fourth straight win. Meanwhile, Taizhou lost 1–2 to Xuzhou in a tight home game.

The biggest spotlight of the round belonged to Suzhou. 43,617 fans filled the stadium, setting a new all-time single-match attendance record for the league.

Even more impressive was 17-year-old high schooler Kou Cheng. Just 78 seconds after kickoff, he scored the opening goal for Suzhou. It was the fastest goal in Su Chao’s history. Despite being the youngest player in the league, Kou has rich match experience. In 2024, he played for Suzhou Dongwu in the U18 division of the China Youth Football League (Jiangsu region) and finished as top scorer.

In another key match, Nantong returned to their new home stadium with a 4–0 win over Suqian. With four wins in four games and 12 points, Nantong now sits second in the standings. They remain the only unbeaten team in the league, reclaiming their nickname “South King (南哥).”

Taizhou’s match against Xuzhou featured a stunning bicycle kick goal and a pre-game drone show. But in the end, Taizhou fell 1–2 at home. The game drew 24,986 fans.
