Crafts on Peel Showcase Hong Kong at London Craft Week

Embracing Craft, Connecting Culture exhibition by Crafts on Peel brings Hong Kong Craft to 2025 London Craft Week.

Hong Kong is a vibrant melting pot of cultures, a perfect crucible for artisans from all corners of the globe to exchange, learn and inspire. This exhibition celebrates the convergence of global cultures through craftsmanship, a phenomenon that transcends borders, fosters understanding and ignites a symphony of creativity.

The exhibition brings together artisans from Hong Kong and around the world to collaborate and co-create across a variety of mediums and forms, fostering creative dialogue and cultural exchange.

It is presented by Crafts on Peel. They are dedicated to reviving, reinterpreting and perpetuating traditional craftsmanship through a modern artistic lens, breathing new life into it with innovative contemporary design. Their Crafts Fellowship Programme empowers a new generation of artisans and nurtures their passion for excellence and commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London, is supporting Crafts on Peel for the exhibition.
Speaking at the exhibition’s opening reception on May 12th, the Director-General of the London ETO, Miss Fiona Chau, welcomed the opportunity to once again support Crafts on Peel’s participation in London Craft Week. She remarked, “This exhibition underlines Hong Kong’s position as a centre for international cultural exchange and reflects its spirit in honouring traditions while embracing innovation.” Miss Chau expressed her hope that the exhibition would offer audiences a fresh perspective on Hong Kong and encouraged them to visit the city and experience its vibrant arts and cultural scene first-hand.

Embracing Craft, Connecting Culture is being held at the Royal Society of Sculptors (108 Old Brompton Road, London SW7 3RA) from May 12th to 18th.  On May 17, Hong Kong artisans will host a Lingnan Penjing demonstration and panel discussion.
