World Robot Conference 2025 in Beijing Shows Vision of the Future

The World Robot Conference 2025 was held in Beijing from August 8th to 12th showcasing the latest cutting edge in robotics.

The theme of the conference is “Making Robots Smarter, Making Embodied Agents More Intelligent.”

More than 100 new products were unveiled, while over 1,500 exhibits were on show. As well as exhibits, the World Robot Conference also featured forums, competitions, and networking events. It has attracted 28 international organisations and over 200 top global companies. Over 400 scientists and entrepreneurs in the field of robotics attended the event as special guests.

Opening on August 8th, the World Robot Conference continued until August 12th 2025.

The conference spanned more than 50,000 square meters at the Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China. It had dedicated zones for industrial, humanoid, service, and special‑purpose robots. There was also a central Innovation zone spotlighting drones, logistics robots, key components, and upstream–downstream supply‑chain technologies.

The conference showcased a huge range of robots. This included more typical showcased robotic dogs and humanoid robots to unique robots for medical use and intelligent robotic lawn mowers. There were even cultural demonstrations at the conference, with robots dancing, boxing, and playing football.

Opening the conference, Qiao Hong, President of the World Robot Cooperation Organization, released the 10 Trends of Embodied Intelligent Robots 2025 report. It underscored the growing role of embodied cognition, multimodal large models, decision‑making, swarm robotics, ethical safety, and human–robot collaboration as core drivers of the field.

This is the 10th edition of the World Robot Conference and comes as China makes increasing strides in world-leading robotics. Beijing has recently opened the worlds first 4S (sales, service, spare parts, and surveys) robot store called Robot Mall. Next door, an AI run robot restaurant has also just opened.

In 2024, China accounted for two-thirds of global robot patent applications. It also produced 556,000 industrial robots, remaining the world’s top manufacturer. The Chinese Institute of Electronics projects that China’s humanoid robot market will reach 870 billion yuan by 2030.

Jeff Burnstein, president of the U.S.-based Association for Advancing Automation, sees a continuing development in China’s robotics sector.

“China is the largest user of traditional robots globally, and if the humanoid market develops as anticipated, more humanoid robots will appear due to investments driving innovation,” he said.

He continued that the conference was “a showplace for the future of humanoid robots.”
